The aims of this programme is to enable you to develop your own area of knowledge and expertise in clinical linguistics, psychology, speech therapy or a related discipline, within a research/ Evidence Based Practice (EBP) framework. This programme is an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC)-recognised Research Master’s award and will prepare you to take a PhD, specifically the ESRC funded 1+3 (master’s plus PhD) degree scheme.
The programme offers a combination of research training modules and specialist knowledge modules. You will have the opportunity during the programme to develop, manage and conduct a small scale research project.

At least an upper-second-class Honours degree, or equivalent, in a relevant subject area, eg linguistics, psychology, speech or language pathology.
If English is not your first language, you must have IELTS 7.0, with a minimum of 6.5 in listening and speaking, or equivalent.

There is no closing date for this programme. However, international students applying for September 2013 entry should apply by Friday 12 July 2013 to ensure that they have time to put appropriate arrangements in place.
Please note: As a formal condition of the offer to study at Newcastle University, students from outside the UK/EU are required to pay a deposit of £1,500 or submit an official letter of sponsorship for their chosen programme. The deposit payment is non refundable, but will be deducted from tuition fees upon registration.
