This programme, run in partnership with Newcastle Law School, focuses on the importance of financial regulation and supervision and the role it plays in ensuring that confidence and stability return to, and enhance the recovery of the world’s financial markets. The programme offers candidates an opportunity to broaden their knowledge and understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks, whilst acquiring technical expertise in the field of finance and financial regulation. This degree of specialism would not otherwise be available on a general law programme.
Compulsory modules introduce the essentials of financial theory and corporate policy, legal and regulatory technique and research methods. They also evaluate and critically appraise important issues related to financial regulation. Optional modules enable you to acquire additional knowledge of other financial and legal topics. You also research and write a dissertation.
