Our Humanities and Social Sciences Graduate School provide training in professional/key skills and research techniques, support personal development and host postgraduate events.
A minimum of an upper-second-class Honours degree, or equivalent, in a relevant subject. Applications from international students are welcome. Please include as much information as possible about your qualifications to allow us to determine equivalence.
Applicants whose first language is not English require IELTS 7.0 or equivalent, with a minimum of 6.5 in written English, 6.5 in speaking, and a minimum 6.0 in all other sub skills. Pre-sessional courses in English language are provided by the University and successful completion of these may be a condition of entry.

The main deadline for applications is May 1 2012, for programmes starting in September 2012. Late applications may be considered on a space-available basis by September 1 2012 (for a January 2013 intake) or by January 1 2013 (for an April 2013 intake). If you are applying for funding, other specific deadlines may apply.
After each deadline, shortlisted candidates will be invited to undertake a detailed (phone) interview. Successful applicants will be informed of their admission to the programme shortly after the interview.

Please note: As a formal condition of the offer to study at Newcastle University, students from outside the UK/EU are required to pay a deposit of £1,500 or submit an official letter of sponsorship for their chosen programme.
