The Crozier Fund
Details:
The Crozier Fund provides educational bursaries for women from either Tyne & Wear or Northumberland to study pure science subjects in Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
Guidelines
- Applicants can apply for a maximum bursary award of £2,000.
- Applications for funding for the academic year beginning October should be made by the end of September the same year.
- Grants are for tuition fees and will be made payable to the college or university.
- At the end of the academic year, grant recipients must submit (a) a brief report to the Foundation explaining how the grant has helped them with their studies and (b) a report from the University confirming that they have satisfied University achievement levels.
- If a student leaves University before the end of the academic year or the student returns an unsatisfactory report, the Community Foundation has the right to request the grant is returned.
Eligibility criteria
- Applicants must have been born in either Tyne & Wear or Northumberland and live in either of these counties at the time of applying.
- A bursary is towards the costs of higher education. This includes undergraduate degrees and postgraduate degrees.
- Studies must take place at any higher education institution in the United Kingdom.
- Applicants are not eligible if they are studying/intending to study at a privately funded institution or overseas.
- Priority will be given to people in greatest financial need. Usually, applicants will qualify for Local Education Authority support (or be just outside the threshold for this support), and/or demonstrate a low level of “spare” income available in the family to support higher education.
- Applicants must provide evidence that they have been accepted onto a course or have a conditional offer before a grant is awarded
- Applicants must be able to provide academic and personal references.
