Royal Academy of Engineering Malpas Scholarship

    Details:

    A £2,500 postgraduate scholarship, towards fees and living expenses, shall be awarded each year to one student. The Scholarship holder shall also be given the opportunity to apply for a further £2,500 ‘golden handshake’ upon successful recruitment into an engineering position, following graduation.
     
    The Scholarship is open to outstanding students who have successfully applied for one of the taught postgraduate courses at Newcastle University listed below:

    Applied Hydrogeology - MSc; PGDip (Residential and Flexible Learning)
    Bioinformatics and Computational Systems Biology - MSc
    Communications and Signal Processing - MSc
    Computer Security and Resilience - MSc
    Environmental Biogeochemistry with Consultancy Skills - MSc
    Environmental Consultancy - MSc
    Environmental Engineering - MSc
    Industrial and Commercial Biotechnology - MSc
    Internet Technologies and Enterprise Computing - MSc
    Materials Design and Engineering - MSc
    Microsystems Engineering - MSc
    Pipeline Engineering - MSc
    Power Distribution Engineering - MSc; PGDip; PGCert
    Renewable Energy Enterprise and Management (REEM) - MSc; PGDip; PGCert
    Renewable Energy Flexible Training Programme (REFLEX) - MSc; PGDip; PGCert; Continuing Professional Development (CPD) modules
    Structural Engineering - MSc
    Subsea Engineering and Management - MSc; Continuing Professional Development (CPD) modules
    Wireless Embedded Systems - MSc

     

    Criteria for candidates:

    • Must be a British National
    • Hold a first class honours degree, in a relevant science or engineering discipline
    • Must be applying to study for a postgraduate degree on one of the MSc programmes listed above at Newcastle University.
    • Please note that the Scholarship recipient will be required to undertake at least one management and enterprise training programme within the Careers Service during the course of their postgraduate study.

You should also submit a separate one page letter outlining your aspirations for a career in engineering and suitability for the Royal Academy of Engineering Malpas Scholarship to:
