5 EPSRC CASE PhD Studentships – Science and Engineering

Value of award

A full PhD award will cover a studentship of £18,748 per year. This includes RCUK standard UK/EU tuition fees, and a stipend (living allowance) of at least £14,553 per year.  Additional funding will be provided by the industry sponsor to support the placement position. This will vary by project outline/sponsor engagement.

The Faculty of Science, Agriculture & Engineering is offering 5 fully funded Industrial Collaborative Awards in Science and Engineering (CASE) PhD Studentship positions under the following projects:

CASE001: Investigation of control and on-line optimisation opportunities of a waste-water treatment plant (Northumbrian Water and School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials). (PDF: 109KB)

Full studentship awards will cover RCUK standard UK/EU tuition fees and a stipend of at least £14,553 per year. Each studentship position will be primarily based on the Newcastle University campus, and will also include a minimum of a 3 month industry based placement (accommodation & travel paid). Each project will be co-supervised by an industry sponsor. Postgraduate students are also enrolled in our Postgraduate Researcher Development Programme.

Eligibility Criteria

The award is available to UK/EU applicants only. Depending on how you meet the EPSRC’s eligibility criteria, you may be entitled to a fees-only award (partial funding) or fees and stipend award (full funding).
