Tuition Fees

Tuition fees for 2013 entry are listed for each of our taught programmes and research degrees.

If you are from:

  • the European Union (EU), you usually pay the same fees as UK students
  • outside of the EU, you will be charged fees at the international rate

Unless otherwise stated fees are payable for each year of your programme of study. Use our Funding database to find funding you could be eligible for - some awards cover tuition fees.

Research programmes involving intensive laboratory, clinical or fieldwork may incur higher fees than those stated. Additional expenses may also be include travel, fieldwork and materials. Contact your chosen subject area for details.


Part-time fees

Part-time fees for international students (non-EU students) have not been provided in individual programme descriptions, because a requirement of student visas is that you must be following a full-time degree programme. In some circumstances part-time study is possible, please contact your chosen research degree or taught programme for details.


Payment of fees and early payment discount

You may be eligible for a 2% discount on the proportion of fees for which you are personally responsible for paying if you pay in full before or by the end of registration week (some exclusions may apply).

If you don't take advantage of this discount, you will be required to pay half of your tuition fees in order to register. The second half of your fees are due in January.


International family discount

A 10% International Family Discount is available for close relatives of international students who meet the relevant criteria.


Alumni Tuition Fee Discount

We offer a 20% discount for tuition fees for Newcastle Alumni who are self-funding for their postgraduate study.
