Modules for Advanced International Business Management and Marketing, MSc

In addition to the programme description, the information below details the modules you can expect to study as part of this postgraduate degree. Please be aware that programme modules do change and therefore may differ for your year of entry.

Compulsory modules

Semester one is undertaken at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Groningen where you study the following modules:

  • GRON101 International Business Strategy (10 credits, 5ECTS)
  • GRON102 Foreign Direct Investment and Trade (10 credits, 5ECTS)
  • GRON107 Comparative Institutional Analysis (10 credits, 5ECTS)
  • GRON108 International Finance (10 credits, 5ECTS)
  • GRON109 Industrial Relations (10 credits, 5ECTS)
  • GRON106 Research Seminar (10 credits, 5ECTS)

*GRON code numbers are provisional codes allocated by Newcastle University. The University of Groningen refer to modules by descriptive title only.

Whilst in Groningen candidates will select one elective module (10 credits, 5ECTS) from a list to be provided annually by the Degree Programme Director.

Semester two is undertaken at Newcastle University Business School where you study the following modules:

The compulsory dissertation will be taken over semester 3 of Year 1 and Semester 1 of Year 2 and will be jointly supervised and delivered by Newcastle University and the University of Groningen. Students will have the choice of where to undertake their dissertation.
