In addition to the programme overview, the information below details the modules you can expect to study as part of this postgraduate degree. Please be aware that programme modules do change and therefore may differ for your year of entry.
You must take additional modules in Linguistics and/or English Language to the value of 80 credits, chosen in consultation with the Degree Programme Director, including the following:
If the Degree Programme Director agrees that candidates possess sufficient introductory knowledge in syntax and in phonology, post-introductory modules may be taken instead of the above.
You must take additional modules in Linguistics and/or English Language to the value of 60 credits in consultation with the Degree Programme Director. By the end of year 2, candidates must have selected at least one module in advanced syntax and at least one module in advanced phonology.
You will write a thesis of around 50,000 words.
