The University has a friendly and supportive atmosphere - it was recently ranked as the UK's second friendliest university in a Friends Reunited league table.

It is a safe place to live and study:

  • campus-wide CCTV
  • a minibus to take students from campus to home on weekday evenings
  • security staff on duty across campus at all times

Newcastle is a very student-friendly city, with safe and accessible public transport and a strong focus on maintaining a safe and vibrant city centre.

Safe Newcastle is a partnership of local organisations which works closely with local universities to ensure issues concerning students in our city are understood and met.
