When You Arrive
What to do when you arrive in Newcastle.
You should arrive in Newcastle in time for the start of term. The first week of term is dedicated to a programme of welcome and orientation activities. It's a chance for you to complete registration and inductions, and settle in before teaching begins.
Once you arrive in Newcastle you should check in to your accommodation and drop off all luggage before completing your registration activities on campus.
As well as completing your registration and attending school induction activities, you should:
- register with a GP
- notify us if you have a disability
- read our guidance on meningitis and septicaemia
If you need a visa to study at Newcastle University you may be required to register with the police.
If English is not your native language, you may be required to sit the University English Language Assessment (UELA).
