Things you need to know before you get to Newcastle.
Begin your registration
Once you have accepted your unconditional offer you can begin your registration online before you arrive on campus. Your registration details and instructions will be sent to you towards the end of August if you are starting in September.
When should I arrive in Newcastle?
You should arrive in Newcastle in time for the start of term. In September, the first week of term is dedicated to a programme of welcome and orientation activities (like registration, school inductions and Freshers' Week).

If your course begins in September 2017, you should arrive by Monday 25 September.
If you are an international, exchange or EU student, you are invited to attend from Monday 18 September to take part in International Welcome Week.
The main registration venue and facilities will be open 09:00 - 17:00, from Tuesday 19 September until Wednesday 27 September (including Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 September between 10:00- 18:00).

If your course begins in January 2017, you are expected to arrive by Monday 30 January. You should complete registration as soon as possible after you arrive.
If you are an international, exchange or EU student, you should arrive by 25 January 2017 to take part in our International Welcome Week.
If you are a UK student there are no specific university orientation or welcome week activties for January starters, but please contact your school for specific arrangements for your programme.
How do I check into my accommodation?
If you're staying in University accommodation, visit our Accommodation website to see when and where you can collect your keys and move into your room. If you're staying in private accommodation, you should check with your landlord or letting agency.
When does teaching begin?
Teaching will begin in the second week of the September term, after inductions and orientation. Details of term and semester dates can be found on the Regulations website.
What should I bring to orientation?
You should bring a form of photo ID (like a passport or driving license) and your printed registration document. If you're an International or exchange student, you'll also need to bring your visa(s).
