Before You Get Here

Before You Get Here

Things you need to know before you get to Newcastle.

Vintage style suitcases and a hat.

Begin your registration

Once you have accepted your unconditional offer you can begin your registration online before you arrive on campus. Your registration details and instructions will be sent to you towards the end of August if you are starting in September.

When should I arrive in Newcastle?

You should arrive in Newcastle in time for the start of term. In September, the first week of term is dedicated to a programme of welcome and orientation activities (like registration, school inductions and Freshers' Week).

How do I check into my accommodation?

If you're staying in University accommodation, visit our Accommodation website to see when and where you can collect your keys and move into your room. If you're staying in private accommodation, you should check with your landlord or letting agency.

When does teaching begin?

Teaching will begin in the second week of the September term, after inductions and orientation. Details of term and semester dates can be found on the Regulations website.

What should I bring to orientation?

You should bring a form of photo ID (like a passport or driving license) and your printed registration document. If you're an International or exchange student, you'll also need to bring your visa(s).
