University restructuring process begins new phase

Senior managers at Newcastle University have contacted the three campus trade unions – AUT, MSF and Unison – to inform them that the University is to begin a formal process of consultation on redundancy. While the University has signalled that it is contemplating the possibility of redundancies, it is hoped to avoid compulsory redundancies wherever possible.

Computer trial to improve diabetes care

People in South Tyneside who are currently on the Diabetes Register are to be asked to take part in the trial of a new computer system designed to improve the management of information about the care of patients who are registered as having diabetes.
