Disgust-a model emotion

A new synthesis is emerging that the emotion of disgust evolved to drive behaviour that protects from infection. This lecture traces the evolution and operation of the disgust system from its core concern with microbes, to manners, and then to morality. If disgust is a typical emotion, then lessons can be drawn about the function and operation of emotions in general.
