You can also study Neurosciences in the new MRes in Neuroscience, run by the Institute of Neuroscience, on which some of our members of staff teach.
Research Degrees
Whilst we often have vacancies for PhDs funded by UK research councils and charities, we also welcome self-funding applicants from the UK and overseas interested in studying for a PhD in our division. Our specialised research interests in psychology are diverse, and include evolutionary psychology, perception and cognition, animal behaviour, neuroscience, and social psychology. This is reflected in some of the research projects currently being undertaken by postgraduate students:
- Context-dependent choice and its implications for welfare research.
- Avian cognition and the evolution of warning signals in insects.
- Colour perception of natural objects.
- New approaches in the study of female physical attractiveness.
- The psychology of modern spirituality
