Our Psychology degree extends over three Stages with each Stage corresponding to one academic year. The academic year is divided into two semesters, with an assessment at the end of each.
Teaching is through a combination of lectures, practical classes, tutorials and seminars. Practical classes allow you to experience phenomena yourself and to 'experiment' on fellow students. This introduces methodological problems of practical work in psychology and increases your expertise in the analysis and interpretation of data.
Assessment is based on examinations and continuous assessment, in the form of essays and reports. In Stage 3 you will also submit an individual experimental project on a subject of your choice. Previous topics have included: visual clues to judge health and attractiveness; educational attainments of children; sleep deprivation and depression.
