Changing Age supports the University Societal theme in Ageing and Health.
The team is based at the Newcastle Campus for Ageing & Vitality and is led by Graham Armitage. The Societal Theme is a university-wide activity led through the Faculty of Medical Sciences.
Newcastle University is a world class Institution for research into ageing, recognised by receiving the Queen’s Anniversary Prize. Research includes projects focussed on nutrition, physical wellbeing, social inclusion and assistive technologies as well as medicine.
The University is harnessing all of its resources under a Changing Age theme to deliver societal and business impact. It also has access to Voice North a panel of nearly 1,000 older people that can help companies deliver inclusive design.
Changing Age for Business is an initiative supported by the European Regional Development Fund and aims to help businesses to grow in the emerging market created by an ageing society.

A new building on the Campus for Ageing and Vitality is a key part of the project which will act as a business hub for ageing to develop partnerships and provide office space for ongoing projects with the University.
