The Policy and Information Team supports Professor Nick Wright who is the PVC (Research & Innovation) and the Faculty Research Deans to ensure the highest quality research is carried out. There is a fortnightly meeting of the University Research Committee to discuss all matters pertaining to and impacting on research within the University, in particular cross-cutting Faculty issues and aims to ensure integration of research through the Faculty Research Committees. The team works closely with colleagues responsible for supporting Faculty research strategy and policy and manages a number of internal funding programmes.
Each Faculty has a Faculty Research Committee. These committees are chaired by the relevant Research Dean and comprise members of various Schools, Centres and Institutes of the Faculty. For more information on these committees, please contact the following:
The Constitution and Terms of Reference of the University Research Committee are available to download from Executive Office website (*internal access only).

Strategic development funds have been earmarked in order to pump-prime impact related activity which may subsequently lead to the development of an impact case study as part of the University’s post-2014 REF submission. The purpose of the fund is to make possible impact activity that would not otherwise happen. Therefore, applications will need to make clear why there are no alternative sources of funding and how the award would make a difference to the progression of impact generation.
