MyProjects Proposals

MyProjects Proposals ( is the University's new bespoke costing and pricing system. It is web based and has been designed with input from all parties involved in the process, from researchers and research support staff to Heads of Unit and the Executive Board.

The aim has been to make the system as intuitive and easy to use as possible. To this end it includes a new electronic sign-off procedure (replacing the current manual process) thereby reducing time and enabling all parties involved to access and interact securely with proposal information anywhere with an internet connection. There are a multitude of other features, which support the proposal, integrated within the system. These include a preliminary ethics form, insurance questionnaire, health and safety considerations etc. All of these functions are incorporated into an adaptive workflow which prompts the user with only appropriate sections, dependant on previous responses.

To ensure consistency and interoperability the system is integrated with the HR systems, Finance systems and it also works seamlessly with MyProjects (the University’s project management system) reducing manual administration time and improving accuracy.

Future phases will involve uploading the costing and pricing information to third party application systems such as J-eS (Joint electronic Submissions) system used for submitting proposals to all UK Research Councils.
