Records Management - Destruction of Confidential Waste
The Records Service is responsible for drawing up retention schedules for all records held within the system; the schedule is drawn up following consultation and based on a function/activity model of University business.
A retention schedule indicates what is to happen to your records following a specified period; this could be destruction, review, or permanent retention in archives. If destruction is scheduled for a particular class of records, then such destruction will happen automatically and without further notice.
All records entering the system are treated as confidential to the University and the routines for records destruction reflect this; all records destruction is implemented using established confidential waste disposal routines.
