E-Learning Programmes of Study in Heritage Management and Tourism

Masters of Art (MA)

  • Part-time (24 months)

In the MA programme, students undertake a series of compulsory modules (in sequence) followed by 2 specialised modules. The MA programme include a substantial research assignment in the form of a Dissertation. This programme runs twice a year, starting in either October or April. The programme takes approximately 15 hours per week to complete.

Module 6: ICS 8041: Heritage, Museum or Art Gallery Work-Related Project (20 Credits)
Module 7 :ICS 8042: Dissertation (60 Credits)


Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip)

  • Part-time (18 months)
  • Online E-Learning

In the Postgraduate Diploma programme, students undertake a series of compulsory modules (in sequence) followed by 2 specialised modules. This programme runs twice a year, starting in either October or April. The programme takes approximately 15 hours per week to complete.

Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert)

  • Part-time (18 months)
  • Online E-Learning

CATS (Credit Accumulation Transfer Scheme)

  • Standalone modules, CATS – 12 weeks
  • Online E-Learning

The Credit Accumulation Transfer Scheme is a framework that enables the University to award postgraduate level qualifications using credit-bearing stand-alone modules as ‘building blocks’ towards a qualification. This means that the credits from modules undertaken within a five-year period can be ‘banked’ towards the award of a qualification. All E-Learning modules (except ICS 8042: Dissertation) are available under the Credit Accumulation Transfer Scheme (CATS). You can take the Dissertation module after all other modules have been successfully completed.

All courses are part-time and include time for independent study and holidays and all modules require a time commitment of approximately 15 hours per week.
