Alan Turnbull is the Co-ordinator for Stage One Fine Art.

Alan Turnbull is a painter and printmaker who has exhibited at national & intenational level since 1979. He is currently employed by Newcastle University on a half-time contract.

Roles and Responsibilities

Alan Turnbull is responsible for co-ordinating the First Year course. He is also module leader for Combined Honours Drawing.
As a member of the Board of Studies he takes part in marking First Stage and Final Year.

Research Interests

Alan Turnbull's current research is in printmaking and drawing.
In 2003 and 2005 he had major exhibitions of etchings in St Petersburg. These projects were supported by grants from the Arts Council of England.
Two one-man exhibitions of new work are planned for 2007 in Newcastle & in Essex.

Postgraduate Supervision

Alan Turnbull has taught at postgraduate level for 15 years. He is currently running First Stage undergraduate on a half-time contract - therfore he currently has no periods in the timetable for post-graduate teaching.
