Project Officer

Background

I currently work in two EU funded  projects lead by Newcastle University, En-compass and COMPLEX. 

COMPLEX is a scientific research project  with 17 partners across Europe set up to develop knowledge based climate mitigation systems for a low carbon economy.

En-compass  is a cultural heritage project which aims to promote, protect and access cultural diversity around the world in partnership with countries in Africa, South America and China. Find more  about the project at  http://www.en-compass.ac.uk/

I joined the University in 2005, working for the CETL for Music and Inclusivity , a £5 million HEFCE funded project commited to broaden music education and promote musical practice in the region. Find more information at   www.cetl4musicne.ac.uk/

I have a degree in Business Administration, a Professional Certificate in Management and considerable IT experience. I have previously worked for Coca-Cola, IFF , Glaxo Smithkline and the County Council.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a Project Administrator I am responsible for  all operational aspects of the project such as budget and events management, setting up and maintaining websites and databases, administrative procedures and communication.

Qualifications

Degree in Business Administration
Professional Certificate in Business Management
PG Diploma in Computer Programming

Languages

English, Portuguese and Spanish.

Informal Interests

I am qualified BWY Yoga teacher www.bwy.org.uk , a Thai Yoga Massage therapist and run yoga classes outside working hours.

I am also a professional interpreter for the NHS.
