Part -time Lecturer in Painting, Trent Polytechnic, 1975-77.

Research Interests

Gavin Robson is a painter with extensive knowledge of printmaking techniques, both historical and current. A former Director of the Hatton Gallery, he has organised numerous exhibitions. He has also exhibited in his own right as a painter in numerous galleries. He has taken a special interest in the Hatton Gallery's extensive collection of Prints and Drawings.

Current Work

Most recent exhibition at the Roger Billcliffe Gallery Gasgow September 2004. To appear in November 2004, catalogue essay, Tom Moore, for the Henshelwood Gallery, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Future Research

Three projects in active preparation, 1. One person exhibition of collages "One hundred tartans of Scotland", Talbot -Rice Art Centre University of Edinburgh. 2. Letters from Oblomovka a body of paintings, venue tobe sought. also "Persons from Porlock" a series of paintings - ongoing.

Postgraduate Supervision

Currently joint supervisor of one doctoral project. Sole supervisor of M.Phil project to be submitted by December2004

Undergraduate Teaching

Teaching onto all four years of the B.A. Hons programme in Fine Art. Special responsibility for teaching printmaking to all years.

Postgraduate Teaching

Contribution to the M.F.A. Programme including Exhibition Management Module and responsible for the teaching induction workshops for postgraduate students teaching onto the Undergraduate programme in Fine Art
