Staff Profiles

Julia Richard

Programme Secretary

Background

In conjunction with other staff I am responsible for coordinating the admissions process to ensure effective and efficient recruitment of students.  Along with other colleagues I share the Reception function for the School, answering queries in person, by email and by telephone.

I also provide clerical support to about 20 academic staff in the Music Department as and when required, including correspondence, travel, car hire, hotel accommodation, etc. and also to Boards of Studies, Boards of Examiners, PEC Committees and staff meetings.

I process all PEC applications from Music students, logging all requests and decisions, informing students of decisions and managing the data in NESS.  I assist with monitoring student attendance, inputting data to NESS and SAP and producing reports for academic staff and Board of Examiners.  I also assist with the updating of programme handbooks, module guides, student related information, etc.  Along with other School administrative staff I assist with the updating of the central module outline forms 9MOFs) for each Music programme.

I assist with the organisation of Welcome Week and Post Application Visit Days, booking rooms, catering, etc. and assist other members of the School when required.
