Introduction
In addition to my university teaching, I have more than 40 years' professional media experience, both as staff and as a freelance journalist and remain a regular contributor to national titles.

Research interests
My academic interests are focused on developing new methods of practising and teaching journalism, particularly in the use of social media, and in the wider dissemination of journalism skills and media literacy among the general population.
