About the Course

Transport Modelling and Forecasting

This course provides a thorough grounding in the techniques used by transport planners for modelling transport systems across the scales and the theory underlying them.

It covers the relevant themes in the context of the Four-step planning model, and provides you with:

  • an understanding of transport modelling, planning and forecasting strategies
  • an awareness of the problem solving and decision making techniques widely used in the transport sector

Who is the course aimed at?

The course is at basic to intermediate level and would benefit those with no transport modelling experience, as well as those requiring new knowledge, a refresher, or an understanding of what lies behind models in order to make strategic decisions.

This course is also delivered as a Module (code CEG8419) on at least one of the Faculty's Masters programmes, the majority of which can be studied part time, making them suitable for those in employment.
