1. What funding is available?

Any scholarships for Reflex & REEM programmes will be advertised on the Reflex/REEM websites.

2. What are the fees?

3. When is the deadline for applications?
It is possible to begin the programmes throughout the year, so there is no single deadline for applications. It is best to allow a few weeks before the start of the module in order for your application to be processed. Applicants wishing to start in September should ideally apply by end July.

4. When can I start?
You may begin with any module; modules are scheduled to run annually. Please see link to schedule for 2011-12

5. How do I apply?

6. Am I eligible?
Reflex: The usual minimum entry requirement for Reflex is an Honours degree in an engineering or cognate subject (2:II).
Applications from those with other qualifications and experience will also be considered by the Academic Selector, so please provide as much information with your application as possible.

7. Can I switch between full-time and part-time modes?
Yes. This often happens as students’ commitments change, andrequires approval of the Degree Programme Director.

8. Can I study by Distance Learning?
The programme is delivered by a combination of distance learning and intensive schools which must be attended in Newcastle. Each module contains one 5-day intensive school. It is not possible to study entirely by distance learning.

9. How is the course assessed?

10. What accommodation is available?

11. How long does the MSc take?
12 months full-time, or any period up to 5 yrs part-time

14. What links are there with industry?
The Steering Committee which contributes to shaping the programme comprises several members from industry, and industrial speakers or site visits are part of most modules.
