Staff Profile

Dr Samuel Neill

Energy Systems Industrial Partnership Manager

Background

Summary

I am currently working as part of the £20m EPSRC National Centre for Energy Systems Integration (CESI), which brings together academic experts from Newcastle, Durham, Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt and Sussex Universities to integrate and galvanise research and innovation to address the challenges of the energy trilemma - security of supply, sustainability and affordability.

My role is to reach out to and collaborate with relevant industrial partners and public sector organisations, including Siemens, Northern Powergrid, Northern Gas Networks, in order to ensure that our activities are both relevant and timely. I also strive to identify new commercial opportunities for collaborative R&D as well as helping to effectively disseminate, demonstrate and commercialise vital outputs from CESI that will shape the UK’s policy and infrastructure over the next 50 years.
