Choosing an institution for your study period abroad is an important decision, but we are convinced that once you have seen our impressive campus you will not want to go anywhere else! There are a number of ways you can find out about the University and its surrounding areas:
The University works with HOST, a voluntary organisation that arranges for overseas students to spend time with British people. This gives you a unique and enjoyable experience of our culture and way of life in Britain. Many current students use HOST if they want a vacation away from home and would like a change from University accommodation. However, you can use this facility - if you wish - to find out more about Newcastle before you decide to study here.
At Newcastle University we try to be as flexible as we can. You may decide that you simply wish to spend one semester with us (September to January or January to June). There is a huge range of modules to choose from.
If you decide to come in the September semester, you may have the option to extend this to one full academic year once you get here. A full year of study is the most popular choice as it gives a fuller experience of life and study in the UK.
You may wish to come to one of our University Visit Days, where students are invited to speak to members of academic staff and view our facilities, including halls of residence.
If you can't attend an Open Day but are still interested in visiting the campus, please contact us and we will try our best to arrange a personal tour for you. Alternatively, you could take a look at our Virtual Tour.
