An opportunity for Year 11 and 12 students to gain an insight into some of the subjects available to study at Newcastle University, while tutors and advisors also gain support and advice on the admissions process.
Date/Time: 16 March 2016, 15.30 - 18.30
Venue: Newcastle University campus
The aim of Discover More is to provide students with the opportunity to carry out practical research into Higher Education, aiding their decision making and improving their subject specific knowledge.
Students select a subject area that interests them and throughout the Discover More session they will take part in an interactive subject taster, explore a number of topics and gain an insight into future career possibilities. Sessions are delivered by enthusiastic academic staff and supported by current undergraduate students.
A description of the different Subject Taster sessions on offer is available to read before making your selection:
If you're in year 11 and due to attend either Discover More session, you must bring a completed Year 11 reply slip with you to the event.
We are pleased to be hosting our Teacher Twilight Information Sessions aimed at all teachers, careers advisors and support staff who work with and support students on the path to Higher Education.
The session offers school staff the opportunity to network with other teachers/advisors and university staff, engage in discussions and gain an insight into higher education and the admissions process.
The session will be taking place at the same time as our first Discover More session for students in Years 11 & 12/first-year college. Teachers are encouraged to organise group travel to accompany their students onto campus if necessary, the cost of which can be reimbursed using our Visit Bursary.
