External Networks
We have close links with a wide range of external organisations, including:
- Aimhigher - we work intensively with Aimhigher networks in the region and have developed a programme of aspiration and awareness-raising activities designed to encourage more students from under-represented groups to consider university
- Connexions - we run a monthly programme of subject-specific briefing sessions for Connexions Personal Advisers in order to inform them of the developments in different subject areas
- Specialist Schools and Academies Trust - Newcastle University is an affiliate of the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust. We work closely with the national, regional and subject-specific Specialist Schools networks. The focus is to support schools in enhancing their subject specialism. We also works closely to support our local Academy, Excelsior Academy
- Newcastle Science City - Newcastle has been designated Science City status: intensive work is taking place within the University, and with schools and colleges in the city to support the education strand of this initiative
