Post-Graduate Research Scheme for Polytechnics – PhD Scholarships

In collaboration with the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and the five local polytechnics (Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic),  the Postgraduate Research Scheme was established to provide PhD training to build academic and research capacity in Singapore.   

Scholarships are available in the following disciplines:

  • Food & Human Nutrition
  • Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials
  • Marine Engineering
  • Naval Architecture
  • Offshore Engineering
  • Mechanical and System Design
  • Electrical and Power Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Computing

Award Terms:

  • Tenable for up to 3 years (full-time) or 5 years (part-time)
  • Full tuition fee sponsorship amounting to about S$100,000.
  • Candidate’s salary and all related allowances/bonuses if any, including employer’s CPF contributions
  • Costs related to the research project and expenses of the awardee incurred for the purpose of research including, without limitation, equipment, consumables, travel, conferences, overseas accommodation, publications etc, subject to the respective polytechnics’ policies for such funding

Eligibility:

  • Meets the University’s admission and academic requirements
  • Employee of Nanyang Polytechnic/Ngee Ann Polytechnic/Singapore Polytechnic/Republic Polytechnic/Temasek Polytechnic
  • Nominated by their respective polytechnics
  • Research interests that fit the research areas in the disciplines above
