Postgraduate Scholarships

Newcastle university is pleased to be able to offer scholarship options in collaboration with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and Workforce Development Agency (WDA) to assist students to take PhD and MPhil research degrees.

Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) -Newcastle University IPP Scholarships

In collaboration with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), Newcastle University has launched the EDB-NU IPP to help build up a pool of postgraduate manpower with critical R&D skills for roles in industry.

PhD candidates will have the opportunity to work on industry-related research projects in large companies with R&D capabilities and be provided a salary of up to S$3,300 a month, inclusive of all tuition fees and R&D related expenditure. The Program is open for Singaporeans or Permanent Residents only. To apply you must have a deep interest in your chosen subject area and relevant bachelor/master degree.

Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) - WDA-NU Step Programme

In collaboration with the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), Newcastle University has launched the WDA-NU Step programme to help small and medium sized companies build their research capabilities and postgraduate manpower.

MPhil candidates will have the opportunity to work on industry-related research projects in smaller companies with part of their salary and tuition fees paid for. To apply you must have a deep interest in your chosen subject area and relevant bachelor/master degree.
