German Poet to challenge Newcastle students in poetry slam and workshop

POETRY SLAM with the German author Christian Bartel
Together with the University of Edinburgh, the University of Aberdeen and the University of St. Andrews we will welcome Christian Bartel, a German writer and poetry slammer in October 2013. In Newcastle there will be several creative writing workshops and a public reading on 16th October and the grand finale will be a poetry slam contest in Edinburgh on 25th October for students from all four universities.
Wednesday 16th October – Newcastle University Hatton Gallery:
- 2 -3.30pm creative writing workshop for German Level B students (max. 15 students)
- 4 - 5.30pm creative writing workshop for German Level C and D students (max. 15 students)
- 7pm public reading
Friday 25th October 5pm ‘Blind Poet’ in Edinburgh: poetry slam contest against the University of Edinburgh, University of St. Andrews and University of Aberdeen
