The Centro de Língua Portuguesa (Instituto Camões) (CLP/IC) is a major regional and national resource housed in the School comprising advanced IT teaching support and a substantial library of printed materials in the fields of Portguese language and culture.
It provides for staff and students, researchers and other interested parties. One of the main objectives is to promote and support university projects for the training of teachers of Portuguese language and culture, as well as research projects on language, history, literature or Portuguese culture in general.
The co-ordinator of the Centre is the Leitor, appointed by the Instituto Camões to the Universities of Newcastle and Durham.
