‘Write to me, Emmi’: The email novel as a new genre
With his two books Gut gegen Nordwind (2006) and Alle sieben Wellen (2009), Austrian writer Daniel Glattauer has brought a new genre to the attention of German-speaking readers: the novel in emails. In my presentation, I will examine this new genre, taking a closer look at its relationship with the epistolary novel, the typical choice of topics and various other aspects.
