Background

Originally from Tipperary in Ireland, I joined Newcastle University in January 2012 from Queen Mary, University of London where I taught on a wide range of modules in Film Studies and Comparative Literature and where I completed my PhD.

Research Interests

My work centres on French cinema, especially from the Nouvelle Vague period onwards.

Current Projects

I am currently working on journal articles on the French artistic collective Kourtrajme and on the notion of performance in the films of Abdellatif Kechiche. In the medium term, I am developing a project which will examine representations of Marseille on screen with a particular focus on the work of Robert Guediguian.
