Undergraduate Degrees

There are many reasons to study Modern Languages at Newcastle, among them the wide range of undergraduate degree programmes:

• Modern Languages BA Honours (T901) This includes the following options
  • French Single Honours
  • German Single Honours
  • French and German Honours
  • French and Spanish Honours
  • German and Spanish Honours
  • French, German and Spanish Honours
  To all of these combination Chinese or Japanese can be added as a second or third language; if you take Portuguese, Dutch, Katalan or Quechua, these languages will also be listed on your degree certificate.
• Chinese/Japanese and Cultural Studies BA Honours (TT12)
• Modern Languages and Business Studies BA Honours (TN92)
• Modern Languages and Linguistics BA Honours (QT19)
• Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies BA Honours (RT47)

All of these degrees are called "Single Honours" (a degree that concentrates on one main subject); it is also possible to sutdy one or two languages as part of a Combined Honours degree. This is our flexible degree programme that allows you to study two or three subjects together, with one or two languages being one of the subjects.
