Social Renewal - asking the big questions
What are the big questions facing society?
Through the Social Renewal theme, we aim to highlight and address issues such as stimulating entrepreneurship, social inclusion and exclusion, and raising levels of ambition and aspiration in school-children and their families, amongst many others. Events on the streets of some English cities in 2011 only serve to reinforce the importance of enhancing our understanding individual and collective responses to the forces shaping society and our towns and cities. The launch of our third theme and our programme of related events comes at a time when it has particular resonance with the general public and with policy-makers.
