John Agard's passionate, playful and, often questioning poems offer acute social observation and touch upon the themes of cultural difference, class divisions and freedom. Grace Nichols has written widely for both adults and children. Much of her poetry is characterised by Caribbean culture and the themes of migration, spirituality, myth, and the resourcefulness of women are ever-present in her work.
