Centre for Rural Economy/Global Challenges Academy International Seminars 2017-18

This year’s programme brings leading academics from Africa, South East Asia and the USA to raise questions and share insights about crucial global issues. These will be stimulating events with scope for discussion, and you are warmly invited to join us. The seminars are free and open to all, but spaces will be limited. For better or for worse? The impact of development programmes on African women farmers
Dr Jemimah Njuki, Senior Program Specialist, Canada’s International Development Research Centre

Dr Njuki is a Senior Program Specialist at Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC), where she manages a portfolio of agriculture and food security programs. She previously led CARE USA’s Women in Agriculture program, and the gender, poverty and impact program at the International Livestock Research Institute. She has published widely on gender and women’s empowerment, value chain and market development. She is Founding Editor in Chief of the Journal of Gender, Agriculture and Food Security.
