Newcastle University Raises £1,500 for Sport Relief 2010
Once again Newcastle University staff and students have taken part in the Sports Centre's Sport Relief events and have managed to raise £1,488.28 for the charity. Approximately 250 staff and students took part in the events organised by Newcastle University for Sport Relief 2010 on Thursday 18th and Friday 19th March. Activities such as a Netball and Dodgeball tournament took place on Thursday 18th March with approx 100 students taking part and raising over £250.
On Friday 19th March Newcastle University joined forces with Newcastle City Council's Active Newcastle Programme and organised two mile challenges in the local Exhibition Park. Mile challenges also took place around the university's halls of residences with Castle Leazes, Richardson Road Flats, Henderson Hall and Leazes Terrace all taking part and raising an £561 between them.
