12th December 2012 - England Fencing have selected Nicola Aberdeen and James Docherty as members of the Coaching and Refereeing teams respectively for Challenge CEP, one of the largest Cadet Fencing Events on the European Calendar.

Held in Paris, this Marathon Foil event comprises over 1500 entries from more than 37 countries over two days.

Nicola will be making her second visit to this tournament, following successfully coaching at the 2010 event and carrying on from her work with Team Newcastle; which has regularly supplied fencers to Home Nations and British Fencing Cadet Events, and Newcastle University; whose first teams are currently unbeaten in the 2012/2013 BUCS Season and top their respective divisions.

Since qualifying as a Level 2 Foil Referee, James has been selected as an official for a variety of events including the British Youth Championships, England Youth Championships and BUCS Individuals.
These selections pay testament to the Officials development underway at Team Newcastle, led by Head Coach Iain Aberdeen.
