Academic Staff Development
We aim to support academic staff throughout their careers to develop their practice in teaching, research and management.
We offer lunchtime briefings, workshops and short courses on a wide range of topics, including:
We offer nationally accredited programmes, the postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Studies in Academic Practice and an Introduction to Teaching and Learning in Higher Education for part-time teachers including postgraduates who teach.
In addition we offer a consultancy service to broker and facilitate development activities for individuals and schools.
Development needs identified by the Performance Development Review (PDR) may be met by the academic units/service units concerned, the SDU, or other units including:
- Quality in Learning and Teaching (QuILT)
- Research and Enterprise Services
- University Safety Office
- Disability Support
