Research Staff Consultative Group

All members of research staff are encouraged to join our ‘virtual’ Research Staff Consultative Group. We're keen to hear your views so that we can better represent you and ensure our development opportunities meet your needs. If you would like to join, please complete the form below.

What's in it for me?
In addition to the benefits of getting your points across, we will enter each respondent into a prize draw for a chance to win a £25 Eldon Square voucher for each survey completed.

How does it work?
Once you have signed up, we will email you links to short surveys in relation to key areas that we need to consult on (we expect this will be no more than 6 surveys a year)

How will the prize draw work?
When you’ve completed a survey, you will be given the option to register for the prize draw from that survey. Your survey responses are kept separate from your prize draw entry and there is no way for anyone to link the two, so your survey responses will remain anonymous.

What will I be asked about?
Topics will be related to your role and experience as a researcher, e.g. researcher mobility, career pathways, training and development needs, etc.

What if I don't have time or don't have an opinion on what you are asking?
No problem – you are under no obligation to respond to every survey so just delete the email.

How will we use the information?
All survey responses will be treated anonymously and we will use them to guide our approach to researcher development within the University.

I'm already part of a research staff association or post doc forum - how is this different?
Firstly, great! We are fully supportive of these groups and are keen to hear more from you. This ‘virtual’ group doesn’t replace them but gives you a direct line of communication to the people trying to support research staff centrally within the University.
