This workshop is suitable for new users to Microsoft PowerPoint.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

  • Use features new to PowerPoint 2013
  • Design a Presentation
  • Work with existing presentations
  • Create a new presentation
  • Use a variety of PowerPoint views
  • Use a variety of slide layouts
  • Apply a PowerPoint Theme
  • Print slides
Outline Programme

The workshop programme is as follows:

  • Introduce features of PowerPoint 2013: Design tab with Theme Variants; Widescreen Slide size option; Resume reading
  • Work with existing presentations
  • Run a Slide Show
  • Be familiar with and use principles of presentation design and delivery
  • Work in Normal View
  • Work with slides in Outline View
  • Use Slide Sorter View
  • Introduce the Reading view
  • Create a simple PowerPoint presentation
  • Add Notes to a slide
  • Add & use sections in a PowerPoint presentation
  • Apply Design Themes
  • Work with placeholders, lists, text boxes and formatting
  • Add Clipart, Video and Transitions to PowerPoint slides
  • Use the new Eyedropper Tool to match colour
  • Save a PowerPoint presentation as a video (for distribution to users without PowerPoint)
  • Print from PowerPoint
