Access 2010 Module 2 - Query Design

Aimed At: Staff who are required to create or amend queries to extract data from an Access database.

Workshop Overview

This workshop is suitable for staff who have attended Access Module 1 or are familiar with the basic features of Access.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

  • Creating Select type queries
  • Designing Parameter queries
  • Creating queries to find Unmatched and Duplicate Data
  • Generating Action queries
Outline Programme

The workshop programme is as follows:

  • Generating select queries and applying criteria
  • Creating calculated fields in queries
  • Producing multi-table queries
  • Creating summary (total) queries
  • Building a parameter query
  • Designing and creating crosstab queries
  • Creating a query to find unmatched data
  • Creating a query to find duplicated data
  • Action queries: Make table, Update, Append and Delete queries
  • When and how would these be used?
  • Create action queries
