Access 2010 Module 4 - Generate Reports and Exchange Data

Aimed At: Staff who are required to extract data from an Access database in order to output in report format.

Workshop Overview

This module uses the database introduced in Module 1. Much of the work covered assumes attendance on previous modules.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

  • Produce a report
  • Customise reports
  • Import and link data to Access
  • Export data from Access
Outline Programme

The workshop programme is as follows:

  • Creating single-column and tabular reports
  • Work with Preview, Layout and Design views
  • Modifying a report’s layout
  • Sorting and grouping in reports
  • Working with report controls and properties
  • Creating reports with sub-reports
  • Adding calculated controls to a report
  • Printing mailing labels
  • Using Access mail merge wizard
  • Exporting data to Word and Excel
  • Import data from Excel
