Word 2013 Module 2 - Using Tables and Graphics in Word

Aimed At: Staff who have basic Word skills, are competent using Windows to open and close files and are comfortable using the mouse.

Workshop Overview

This workshop has been specially designed for staff who want to expand their knowledge by learning how to use graphics and to create tables in Word.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

  • Create a table in a document
  • Edit a table
  • Format a tables
  • Use the Draw Table tool
  • Add and edit formulae in a table
  • Create a chart based on a table
  • Use the table property dialogue box
  • Import tables from Excel
  • Insert and edit graphic objects
Outline Programme

The workshop programme is as follows:

  • Insert a table using various techniques
  • Insert and delete columns and rows
  • Sort data in the table
  • Merge and split cells
  • Repeat table headings
  • Format a table e.g. tabs, indents, bullets, text allignments
  • Apply table designs, borders and shading
  • Draw a table
  • Use formulae within the table and be aware of update problems
  • Convert tables to text and vice versa
  • Insert tables into text and reposition if necessary
  • Delete a table
  • Import a table from Excel
  • Create charts based on a table
  • Use the Table Property dialogue box
  • Insert and edit Picture, ClipArt, SmartArt and WordArt
